| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
| 4 | | Section 5. The University of Illinois Act is amended by | 5 | | adding Section 120 as follows: | 6 | | (110 ILCS 305/120 new) | 7 | | Sec. 120. Undocumented Student Liaison; Undocumented | 8 | | Student Resource Center. | 9 | | (a) Beginning with the 2022-2023 academic year, the Board | 10 | | of Trustees shall designate an employee as an Undocumented | 11 | | Student Resource Liaison to be available on campus to provide | 12 | | assistance to undocumented students and mixed status students | 13 | | within the United States in streamlining access to financial | 14 | | aid and academic support to successfully matriculate to degree | 15 | | completion. The Undocumented Student Liaison shall provide | 16 | | assistance to vocational students, undergraduate students,
| 17 | | graduate students, and professional-track students. An | 18 | | employee who is designated as an Undocumented Student Liaison | 19 | | must be knowledgeable about current legislation and policy | 20 | | changes through professional development with the Illinois | 21 | | Dream Fund Commission to provide the wrap-around services to | 22 | | such students. The Illinois Dream Fund Commission shall | 23 | | conduct professional development under this Section. The |

The | 8 | | Undocumented Student Liaison must be placed in a location that | 9 | | provides direct access for students in collaboration with the | 10 | | retention and matriculation programs of the University.
