SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

305 ILCS 5/12-4.44 new

Amends the Administration Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that the Department of Healthcare and Family Services and the Department of Human Services are authorized to contract with third-party, nongovernmental entities for administrative functions related to medical assistance applicant eligibility determinations and ongoing caseload support. Effective July 1, 2011.

AN ACT concerning public aid.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by adding Section 12-4.44 as follows:

(305 ILCS 5/12-4.44 new)

Sec. 12-4.44. Third-party contracts; medical assistance applicant eligibility determinations. The Department of Healthcare and Family Services and the Department of Human Services are authorized to contract with third-party, nongovernmental entities for administrative functions related to medical assistance applicant eligibility determinations and ongoing caseload support.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, 2011.
