The sum of $135,000, or so much of that 26 amount as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General 27 Revenue Fund to the Illinois Student Assistance Commission 28 for costs associated with administration of the Illinois 29 Higher EdNet, a clearinghouse for post-secondary education 30 financial aid information. The sum of $100,000, or so much thereof as 2 may be necessary, is appropriated to the Illinois Student 3 Assistance Commission from the Higher EdNet Fund for costs 4 associated with administration of the Illinois Higher EdNet, 5 a clearinghouse for post-secondary education financial aid 6 information. 7 Section 20. The sum of $7,500,000, or so much thereof as 19 may be necessary, is appropriated to the Illinois Student 20 Assistance Commission from the Student Assistance Commission 21 Student Loan Fund for costs associated with the Loan Based 22 Solution system replacement project. 23 Section 30. The sum of $250,915,800, or so much thereof 24 as may be necessary, is appropriated to the Illinois Student 25 Assistance Commission from the General Revenue Fund for 26 payment of grant awards to students eligible to receive such 27 awards, as provided by law, including up to $2,700,000 for 28 transfer into the Monetary Award Program Reserve Fund. 29 Section 35. The sum of $3,850,000, or so much thereof as 30 may be necessary, is appropriated to the Illinois Student 31 Assistance Commission from the Monetary Award Program Reserve SB589 Engrossed -4- LRB9104663NTsb 1 Fund for payment of grant awards to full-time and part-time 2 students eligible to receive such awards, as provided by law. 3 Section 40. The following named amounts, or so much 4 thereof as may be necessary, respectively, are appropriated 5 from the General Revenue Fund to the Illinois Student 6 Assistance Commission for the following purposes: 7 Grants and Scholarships 8 For payment of matching grants to Illinois 9 institutions to supplement scholarship 10 programs, as provided by law................. $ 1,000,000 11 For payment of Merit Recognition Scholarships 12 to undergraduate students under the Merit 13 Recognition Scholarship Program provided 14 for in Section 30 of the Higher Education 15 Student Assistance Act....................... 4,700,000 16 For the payment of scholarships to students 17 who are children of policemen or firemen 18 killed in the line of duty, or who are 19 dependents of correctional officers 20 killed or permanently disabled in the line 21 of duty, as provided by law.................. 150,000 22 For payment of Illinois National Guard and 23 Naval Militia Scholarships at State- 24 controlled universities and public 25 community colleges in Illinois to 26 students eligible to receive such 27 awards, as provided by law................... 4,050,000 28 For payment of military Veterans' 29 scholarships at State-controlled 30 universities and at public community 31 colleges for students eligible, 32 as provided by law........................... 21,750,000 33 For college savings bond grants to SB589 Engrossed -5- LRB9104663NTsb 1 students eligible to receive 2 such awards.................................. 420,000 3 For payment of minority teacher 4 scholarships................................. 2,400,000 5 For payment of David A. The following named amounts, or so much 11 thereof as may be necessary, respectively, are appropriated 12 from the Education Assistance Fund to the Illinois Student 13 Assistance Commission for the following purposes: 14 Grants and Scholarships 15 For payment of grant awards to full-time and 16 part-time students eligible to receive such 17 awards, as provided by law................... $ 81,970,000 18 For payment of Illinois Incentive for Access 19 grants as provided by law.................... 4,000,000 20 Total $85,970,000 21 Section 50. The following sum, or so much thereof as may 22 be necessary, is appropriated from the Federal State Student 23 Incentive Trust Fund to the Illinois Student Assistance 24 Commission for the following purpose: 25 Grants 26 For payment of grant awards to full-time and 27 part-time students eligible to receive such 28 awards, as provided by law......................$1,500,000 29 Section 55. The sum of $162,500,000, or so much thereof 30 as may be necessary, is appropriated from the Student 31 Assistance Commission Student Loan Fund to the Illinois SB589 Engrossed -6- LRB9104663NTsb 1 Student Assistance Commission for distribution when necessary 2 as a result of guarantees of loans that are uncollectable or 3 for payments required under agreements with the United States 4 Secretary of Education. 5 Section 57. The sum of $1,000,000, or so much thereof as 6 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Federal Reserve 7 Recall Fund to the Illinois Student Assistance Commission for 8 the transfer of interest income to the Student Loan Operating 9 Fund. 10 Section 58. The sum of $73,200,000, or so much thereof 11 as may be necessary, is appropriated from the Student Loan 12 Operating Fund to the Illinois Student Assistance Commission 13 for transfer to the Federal Student Loan Fund from revenues 14 derived from collection payments owed to the U.S. Department 15 of Education, complement revenues, and payments required 16 under agreements with the U.S. Secretary of Education. 17 Section 60. The sum of $100,000, or so much of that 18 amount as may be necessary, is appropriated from the Accounts 19 Receivable Fund to the Illinois Student Assistance Commission 20 for costs associated with the collection of delinquent 21 scholarship awards pursuant to the Illinois Collection Act of 22 1986. 23 Section 65. The following named amount, or so much 24 thereof as may be necessary, respectively, is appropriated 25 from the Federal Student Assistance Scholarship Fund to the 26 Illinois Student Assistance Commission for the following 27 purpose: 28 For payment of Robert C. The sum of $70,000, or so much thereof as 2 may be necessary, is appropriated to the Illinois Student 3 Assistance Commission from the University Grant Fund for 4 payment of grants for the Higher Education License Plate 5 Program, as provided by law. 6 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 7 1, 1999.
