1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 28
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Joint Resolution 28, by
3 replacing the WHEREAS clause with the following:
4 "WHEREAS, The State Board of Education has filed its Fall
5 1997 Mandate Waiver report, dated October 1, 1997, and an
6 addendum to that report dated October 24, 1997, with the
7 Senate and the House of Representatives as required by
8 Section 2-3.25g of the School Code; therefore be it"; and
9 by replacing the RESOLVED clause with the following:
10 "RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL
11 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE HOUSE OF
12 REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING HEREIN, that the request
13 pertaining to licensed practical nurses (LPN's) submitted by
14 Prairie Hills Elementary School District 144, identified in
15 the report as WM197-0808-1, is disapproved; and be it further
16 RESOLVED, that the requests pertaining to school nurses
17 submitted by Exceptional Children Have Opportunities (ECHO)
18 Joint Agreement of Cook County, identified in the report as
19 WM197-0769, and Special Education District of Lake County,
20 identified in the report as WM197-0770, are disapproved for
21 the reason that the applicants, as special education
22 cooperatives, are ineligible to apply for waivers under the
