| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Johnny L. Knapp of Collinsville, who | 4 | | passed away on January 6, 2017 at the age of 71; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Johnny Knapp was born in Collinsville to Frank and | 6 | | Hazel (Alexander) Knapp on June 24, 1945; he was a veteran of | 7 | | the United States Marine Corps. and married Nancy Mumper in | 8 | | Collinsville on October 11, 1968; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Johnny Knapp served as a police officer with the | 10 | | Collinsville Police Department from 1972 until he retired in | 11 | | 1992; in 1976, he co-founded the Collinsville Fraternal Order | 12 | | of Police Lodge 103 and was a charter member; he was a member | 13 | | of the American Legion Post 365 and a member of Collinsville | 14 | | Eagle Lodge; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Johnny Knapp was preceded in death by his parents | 16 | | and a brother, Frank Knapp; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Johnny Knapp is survived by his wife, Nancy; his | 18 | | children, Rachelle Knapp, Johnny Knapp II, Tamathia McDale, and | 19 | | Tonya Willis; his grandchildren, William, Matthew, Sarah, | 20 | | Randi Kay, Ashley, David, and Dominick; and his great-grandson, | 21 | | Garrett; therefore, be it

Knapp, and | 4 | | extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all | 5 | | who knew and loved him; and be it further
