SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Johnny L. Knapp of Collinsville, who
4passed away on January 6, 2017 at the age of 71; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Johnny Knapp was born in Collinsville to Frank and
6Hazel (Alexander) Knapp on June 24, 1945; he was a veteran of
7the United States Marine Corps. and married Nancy Mumper in
8Collinsville on October 11, 1968; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Johnny Knapp served as a police officer with the
10Collinsville Police Department from 1972 until he retired in
111992; in 1976, he co-founded the Collinsville Fraternal Order
12of Police Lodge 103 and was a charter member; he was a member
13of the American Legion Post 365 and a member of Collinsville
14Eagle Lodge; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Johnny Knapp was preceded in death by his parents
16and a brother, Frank Knapp; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Johnny Knapp is survived by his wife, Nancy; his
18children, Rachelle Knapp, Johnny Knapp II, Tamathia McDale, and
19Tonya Willis; his grandchildren, William, Matthew, Sarah,
20Randi Kay, Ashley, David, and Dominick; and his great-grandson,
21Garrett; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
3family and friends, mourn the passing of Johnny L. Knapp, and
4extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all
5who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Johnny Knapp as an expression of our
8deepest sympathy.
