AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 38

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 38 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the following:

"Section 5. The Green Infrastructure for Clean Water Act is amended by adding Section 20 as follows:

(415 ILCS 56/20 new)

Sec. 20. Rainwater harvesting and use recommendations. By June 30, 2012, the Agency, in consultation with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, the Illinois Department of Public Health, storm water management agencies, and other interested parties either that specifically request to address the Agency with their ideas or that the Agency deems appropriate to include, shall submit to the General Assembly and the Governor recommendations for the safe handling and use of rainwater and rainwater harvesting systems for non-potable uses, such as toilet flushing and landscape irrigation, as are consistent with this Act.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.".
