AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3779

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 3779, AS AMENDED,
3with reference to page and line numbers of Senate Amendment No.
43, on page 1, line 6, after "28", by inserting "and by adding
5Section 26.7"; and
 
6on page 15, by replacing lines 24 through 26 with the
7following:
8    "Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act, until May
91, 2013 for a period of 3 years after the effective date of
10this amendatory Act"; and
 
11on page 50, immediately below line 22, by inserting the
12following:
 
13    "(230 ILCS 5/26.7 new)
14    Sec. 26.7. Advanced deposit wagering surcharge. On and
15after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 97th

1General Assembly, each advance deposit wagering licensee shall
2impose a surcharge of up to 0.18% on winning wagers and
3winnings from wagers placed through advance deposit wagering.
4The surcharge shall be deducted from winnings prior to payout.
5Amounts derived from a surcharge imposed under this Section
6shall be paid to the standardbred purse accounts of
7organization licensees conducting standardbred racing."; and
 
8on page 52, by replacing lines 9 through 19 with the following:
9"pursuant to this subsection (a-5), beginning on the effective
10date of this amendatory Act of the 97th General Assembly until
11May 1, 2013 an additional pari-mutuel tax at the rate of 0.25%
12shall be imposed on advance deposit wagering, the amount of
13which shall not exceed $250,000 in each calendar year. Until
14the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 97th General
15Assembly, the The additional 0.25% pari-mutuel tax imposed on
16advance deposit wagering by Public Act 96-972 this amendatory
17Act of the 96th General Assembly shall be deposited into the
18Quarter Horse Purse Fund, which shall be created as a
19non-appropriated trust fund administered by the Board for
20grants to thoroughbred organization licensees for payment of
21purses for quarter horse races conducted by the organization
22licensee. On and after the effective date of this amendatory
23Act of the 97th General Assembly, the additional 0.25%
24pari-mutuel tax imposed on advance deposit wagering shall be
25deposited equally into the".
