AN ACT concerning revenue.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Property Tax Code is amended by changing Section 20-160 as follows:

(35 ILCS 200/20-160)

Sec. 20-160. Office may be declared vacant. If any county collector fails to account and pay over as required in Sections 20-140 and 20-150, the office may be declared vacant by the circuit county board, or by any court of the judicial circuit in which the county seat is located and in which suit is brought on his or her official bond.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
