1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 648
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 648, AS AMENDED,
3 in Section 10, Sec. 27A-4, subsection (b), the sentence
4 beginning "The total number", by deleting "except as
5 otherwise provided in this subsection (b)"; and
6 in Section 10, Sec. 27A-4, subsection (b), by deleting the
7 following:
8 "However, when the maximum number of charter schools for a
9 region has been reached, the number of charter schools
10 authorized to operate at any one time in that region shall be
11 increased by 15, with further increases by 15 when the new
12 maximum numbers have been reached but with no more than 15
13 new charter schools being authorized per region, per year.";
14 and
15 in Section 10, Sec. 27A-11.5, at the end of subdivision (1),
16 by inserting "If House Bill 230 of the 91st General Assembly
17 becomes law, transition impact aid shall not be paid for any
18 charter school that is proposed and created by one or more
19 boards of education, as authorized under the provisions of
20 House Bill 230 of the 91st General Assembly.".
