1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 582
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 582, by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:
4 "Section 5. The sum of $635,541,900, or so much thereof
5 as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue
6 Fund to the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois
7 for any expenditures or purposes authorized by law for the
8 fiscal year ending June 30, 2000.
9 Section 10. The sum of $77,000,000, or so much there of
10 as may be necessary, is appropriated from the Education
11 Assistance Fund to the Board of Trustees of the University of
12 Illinois for any expenditures or purposes authorized by law
13 for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2000.
14 Section 15. The sum of $994,100, or so much thereof as
15 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Fire Prevention
16 Fund to the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois
17 for the purpose of maintaining the Illinois Fire Service
18 Institute, paying the expenses and providing the facilities
19 and structures incident thereto, including payment to the
20 University for personal services and related costs incurred
21 during the fiscal year.

1 Section 20. The sum of $290,000, or so much thereof as
2 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Real Estate
3 Research and Education Fund to the Board of Trustees of the
4 University of Illinois for the ordinary and contingent
5 expenses, including scholarships and payment to the
6 University for personal services and related costs incurred
7 during the fiscal year, of the Office of Real Estate
8 Research.
9 Section 25. The sum of $2,700,000, or so much thereof as
10 may be necessary, and remains unexpended on June 30, 1999,
11 from an appropriation heretofore made for such purpose in
12 Article 7, Section 60 of Public Act 88-0551, is
13 reappropriated from the Capital Development Fund to the Board
14 of Trustees of the University of Illinois to acquire and
15 develop land for expansion of the Chicago campus, including
16 demolition, landscaping and site improvements, planning,
17 construction, remodeling, extension and modification of
18 campus utility systems, and such other expenses as may be
19 necessary to construct a public safety and transportation
20 facility and to develop student recreational areas.
21 Section 30. The sum of $6,924,300, or so much thereof as
22 may be necessary, and remains unexpended on June 30, 1999,
23 from an appropriation heretofore made for such purpose in
24 Article 23, Section 35, of Public Act 90-0585, is
25 reappropriated from the Capital Development Fund to the Board
26 of Trustees of the University of Illinois to plan for all
27 aspects of construction and to acquire and develop land,
28 including demolition, landscaping, site improvements,
29 extension and modification of campus utility systems,
30 relocation of programs, and such other expenses as may be
31 necessary to construct a College of Medicine building in
32 Chicago.

1 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July
2 1, 1999.".
