1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 582
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 582, by replacing
3 the title with the following:
4 "AN ACT regarding appropriations."; and by replacing
5 everything after the enacting clause with the following:
6 "Section 5. The following named sums, or so much thereof
7 as may be necessary,respectively, for the objects and
8 purposes hereinafter named, are appropriated from the General
9 Revenue Fund to the Board of Trustees of the University of
10 Illinois to meet the ordinary and contingent expenses of the
11 University of Illinois, including payment to the University
12 for personal services and related costs incurred during the
13 fiscal year:
14 For Personal Services..........................$563,648,200
15 (Included in the above amount is the sum of $32,451 for
16 the payment of interest on the endowment funds of the
17 University as provided in Section 2 of "An Act to make
18 appropriations for the University of Illinois and providing
19 for the management of funds of said University, and for the
20 protecting interests of the State in connection therewith",
21 approved June 11, 1897, as amended. Also included in the
22 above amount is a sum for salaries accrued but unpaid to

1 academic personnel for personal services rendered during the
2 academic year 1997-98.)

25 Education Assistance Fund to the Board of Trustees of the
26 University of Illinois to meet the ordinary and contingent
27 expenses of the University of Illinois, including payment to
28 the University for personal services and related costs
29 incurred during the fiscal year:

31 (Also included in the above amount is a sum for salaries
32 accrued but unpaid to academic personnel for personal
33 services rendered during the academic year 1997-98.)

12 Section 20. The sum of $994,100, or so much thereof as
13 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Fire Prevention
14 Fund to the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois
15 for the purpose of maintaining the Illinois Fire Service
16 Institute, paying the expenses and providing the facilities
17 and structures incident thereto, including payment to the
18 University for personal services and related costs incurred
19 during the fiscal year.
20 Section 25. The sum of $290,000, or so much thereof as
21 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Real Estate
22 Research and Education Fund to the Board of Trustees of the
23 University of Illinois for the ordinary and contingent
24 expenses, including scholarships and payment to the
25 University for personal services and related costs incurred
26 during the fiscal year, of the Office of Real Estate
27 Research.
28 Section 30. The sum of $4,000,000 or so much thereof as
29 may be necessary, and remains unexpended on June 30, 1998,
30 from an appropriation heretofore made for such purpose in
31 Article 7, Section 60 of Public Act 88-0551, is

1 reappropriated from the Capital Development Fund to the Board
2 of Trustees of the University of Illinois to acquire and
3 develop land for expansion of the Chicago campus, including
4 demolition, landscaping and site improvements, planning,
5 construction, remodeling, extension and modification of
6 campus utility systems, and such other expenses as may be
7 necessary to construct a public safety and transportation
8 facility and to develop student recreational areas.
9 Section 35. The sum of $6,924,300, or so much thereof as
10 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Capital
11 Development Fund to the Board of Trustees of the University
12 of Illinois to plan for all aspects of construction and to
13 acquire and develop land, including demolition, landscaping,
14 site improvements, extension and modification of campus
15 utility systems, relocation of programs, and such other
16 expenses as may be necessary to construct a College of
17 Medicine facility in Chicago.
18 Section 9999. Effective date. This Act takes effect
19 July 1, 1999.".
