AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 3240

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3240 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the following:

"Section 5. The State Employees Group Insurance Act of 1971 is amended by changing Section 6.12 as follows:

(5 ILCS 375/6.12)

Sec. 6.12. Payment for services. The program of health benefits is subject to the provisions of Sections Section 368a and 370a of the Illinois Insurance Code, provided that, should a covered member or covered dependent assign payments to the health care professional, the health care professional shall be prohibited from collecting from that person more than the estimated patient payment responsibility.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.".
