SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jerry D. Saline of Knoxville, who passed away on July 23, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Jerry Saline was born to Dean and Fern (Reed) Saline in Galesburg on October 3, 1947; he graduated from Knoxville High School in 1965; he served in the U.S. Army from July 1967 to February 1969; he married Teresa Clay in East Galesburg in February 1978; and

WHEREAS, After his military service, Jerry Saline farmed with his father; he then worked for the City of Knoxville Sewer Department, Hiller Construction, and Laverdiere Construction before retiring from Midwest Crane; after retiring, he pursued snowplowing and garden tilling in Knoxville; and

WHEREAS, Jerry Saline was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Janice and Harold; and

WHEREAS, Jerry Saline is survived by his daughter, Amanda Joy (Cdr. J.A. Copes, USN, ret.) Clay-Copes; his sister, Barbara Heimer; his sister-in-law, Terrie Saline; his brother-in-law, Jerry Fordyce; and several nieces and one nephew; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jerry D. Saline and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jerry Saline as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
