SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Jerry D. Saline of Knoxville, who
4passed away on July 23, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jerry Saline was born to Dean and Fern (Reed)
6Saline in Galesburg on October 3, 1947; he graduated from
7Knoxville High School in 1965; he served in the U.S. Army from
8July 1967 to February 1969; he married Teresa Clay in East
9Galesburg in February 1978; and
 
10    WHEREAS, After his military service, Jerry Saline farmed
11with his father; he then worked for the City of Knoxville Sewer
12Department, Hiller Construction, and Laverdiere Construction
13before retiring from Midwest Crane; after retiring, he pursued
14snowplowing and garden tilling in Knoxville; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Jerry Saline was preceded in death by his parents
16and his siblings, Janice and Harold; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Jerry Saline is survived by his daughter, Amanda
18Joy (Cdr. J.A. Copes, USN, ret.) Clay-Copes; his sister,
19Barbara Heimer; his sister-in-law, Terrie Saline; his
20brother-in-law, Jerry Fordyce; and several nieces and one
21nephew; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3Jerry D. Saline and extend our sincere condolences to his
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Jerry Saline as an expression of our
8deepest sympathy.
