92_HB6001eng HB6001 Engrossed LRB9215933DJgcA 1 AN ACT in relation to public aid. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by 5 adding Section 5-23 as follows: 6 (305 ILCS 5/5-23 new) 7 Sec. 5-23. Transplant procedures; non-citizen children; 8 study. 9 (a) The Department of Public Aid shall gather and report 10 the following data: 11 (1) The number of children under 19 years of age 12 who, because of their immigration status, received 13 medical coverage from the Department only for emergency 14 services during the State fiscal years 1999, 2000, and 15 2001. 16 (2) The total payments, charges, categories of 17 service, and diagnoses of the children under 19 years of 18 age who, because of their immigration status, received 19 medical coverage from the Department only for emergency 20 services during the State fiscal years 1999, 2000, and 21 2001. 22 (b) The Department shall report the data to the Governor 23 and the General Asembly by January 1,2003. 24 (c) This Section is repealed on July 1, 2003. 25 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 26 becoming law.
