1 AN ACT concerning municipalities.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by
5 adding Section 11-42-2.2 as follows:
6 (65 ILCS 5/11-42-2.2)
7 Sec. 11-42-2.2. The corporate authorities of a
8 municipality may provide for the regulation, licensing, and
9 inspection of any retail establishment that sells cigarettes
10 or other tobacco products. The corporate authorities of a
11 municipality may, by ordinance, determine the location of
12 vending machines that sell cigarettes or other tobacco
13 products within the municipality.
