1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1887
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 1887, AS AMENDED,
3 in Section 10, Sec. 22.28a, by replacing all of subsection
4 (b) with the following:
5 "(b) For the purposes of this Section:
6 (1) "White goods" includes all discarded
7 refrigerators, ranges, water heaters, freezers, air
8 conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces, humidifiers, and
9 other similar domestic and commercial large appliances.
10 (2) "White good component" means:
11 (i) any chlorofluorocarbon refrigerant gas;
12 (ii) any self-contained and readily removable
13 component or device containing lead, mercury, or
14 cadmium, including without limitation certain
15 batteries, electrical tilt switches, thermocouples,
16 thermostats, and manometers;
17 (iii) any device that contains or may contain
18 PCBs in a closed system, including but not limited
19 to a dielectric fluid for a capacitor, transformer,
20 ballast, or other component; and
21 (iv) any fluorescent or high intensity lamp
22 that contains mercury.".
