FOOD PREPARATION-HEPATITIS A                                               

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Sanitary Food Preparation Act. Provides that an owner,      
   operator, or manager of a food service establishment may  not  require      
   or  permit  a  person  to  perform  any task as a food handler in that      
   establishment unless that person has been immunized  against hepatitis      
   A virus within the preceding 12 months.  Provides that  a  person  may      
   not     perform  any  task  as  a  food  handler  in  a  food  service      
   establishment unless the person has been immunized against hepatitis A      
   virus within the preceding 12  months.   Makes  a  violation  a  petty      
   offense punishable by a fine of not more than $1,000 in the case of an      
   owner, operator, or manager of a food service establishment or $500 in      
   the case of a  person performing any task as a food handler.
