 1                    AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 327
 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend Senate Bill 327 on page 4,  by
 3    replacing lines 32 and 33 with the following:
 4        "(410 ILCS 405/7) (from Ch. 111 1/2, par. 6957)
 5        Sec.  7.  Regional ADA center grants-in-aid.  Pursuant to
 6    appropriations  enacted  by   the   General   Assembly,   the
 7    Department  shall  provide grants-in-aid to each Regional ADA
 8    Center Centers for necessary research and for the development
 9    and  maintenance  of  services  for  victims  of  Alzheimer's
10    disease and related disorders and families in accordance with
11    the State Alzheimer's Assistance Plan. The  first  $2,000,000
12    of any grants-in-aid appropriated by the General Assembly for
13    Regional  ADA  Centers  in  any  State  fiscal  year shall be
14    distributed in equal portions to those Regional  ADA  Centers
15    receiving the appropriated grants-in-aid for the State fiscal
16    year  beginning July 1, 1996. The first $400,000 appropriated
17    by the General Assembly in excess of $2,000,000 in any  State
18    fiscal  year  beginning  on  or  after  July 1, 1997 shall be
19    distributed in equal portions to those Regional  ADA  Centers
20    receiving the appropriated grants-in-aid for the State fiscal
21    year  beginning July 1, 1996.  Any monies appropriated by the
22    General Assembly in excess of $2,400,000 for any State fiscal
23    year beginning on or after July 1, 1997 shall be  distributed

 1    in equal portions to each Regional ADA Center. The Department
 2    shall   promulgate   rules   and   procedures  governing  the
 3    distribution and specific purposes for such grants, including
 4    any contributions of recipients of services toward  the  cost
 5    of care.

 7        Section  99.  Effective date.  This Act takes effect upon
 8    becoming law."; and
 9    on page 5, by deleting lines 1 through 18.
