SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Gladys L. Hopping of Bloomington, who passed away on May 25, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Gladys Hopping was born in Lincoln to Samuel and Louise Dorris Anderson on November 22, 1934; she married Robert "Bob" Hopping in Springfield on June 16, 1957; and

WHEREAS, Gladys Hopping worked in sales at Provident Bookstore in Bloomington for many years; and

WHEREAS, Gladys Hopping was a member of Eastview Christian Church in Bloomington for over 55 years; she enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, reading, cooking, and gardening; and

WHEREAS, Gladys Hopping was preceded in death by her sister, Mildred Ellis; and

WHEREAS, Gladys Hopping is survived by her husband, Bob; her children, Mark (Lori) Hopping and Carol (Jim) Hopping-Smith; her grandchildren, Katie (John) Flynn, Laura (Bob) Caveny, David Hopping, Ashley Smith, and Emiley Smith; her great-grandchildren, Lola and Collin Flynn; her sister, Beverly Carder; and her brother, James (Lou Ellen) Anderson; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Gladys L. Hopping and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Gladys Hopping as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
