SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Gladys L. Hopping of Bloomington, who
4passed away on May 25, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gladys Hopping was born in Lincoln to Samuel and
6Louise Dorris Anderson on November 22, 1934; she married Robert
7"Bob" Hopping in Springfield on June 16, 1957; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Gladys Hopping worked in sales at Provident
9Bookstore in Bloomington for many years; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Gladys Hopping was a member of Eastview Christian
11Church in Bloomington for over 55 years; she enjoyed spending
12time with her family, traveling, reading, cooking, and
13gardening; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Gladys Hopping was preceded in death by her
15sister, Mildred Ellis; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Gladys Hopping is survived by her husband, Bob;
17her children, Mark (Lori) Hopping and Carol (Jim)
18Hopping-Smith; her grandchildren, Katie (John) Flynn, Laura
19(Bob) Caveny, David Hopping, Ashley Smith, and Emiley Smith;
20her great-grandchildren, Lola and Collin Flynn; her sister,

1Beverly Carder; and her brother, James (Lou Ellen) Anderson;
2therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Gladys L. Hopping and extend our sincere condolences to her
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Gladys Hopping as an expression of
10our deepest sympathy.
