| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Leonard D. Sosinski of Woodstock, who | 4 | | passed away on January 20, 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Leonard Sosinski was born in Bronson, Michigan on | 6 | | October 10, 1915; he served his country in the United States | 7 | | Navy during World War II from 1942 to 1945; he married Marie | 8 | | Francis Bonacci on February 6, 1943; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Following his service in the war, he studied | 10 | | nursing and worked as a nurse anesthetist until retiring from | 11 | | McHenry Hospital at the age of 65 in 1980; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Leonard Sosinski was honored in 2013 for his | 13 | | service as a Pearl Harbor first responder; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Leonard Sosinski was an avid gardener and, | 15 | | following retirement, turned his hobby into his livelihood by | 16 | | planting an orchard and growing produce and pumpkins; he was an | 17 | | active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Hartland in | 18 | | Woodstock where he served as Eucharistic Minister; he was also | 19 | | a member of the Knights of Columbus #634 Starve Rock Council in | 20 | | Ottawa; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Leonard Sosinski and his wife, Marie, had 11 | 2 | | children, Christine (Robert) Lane, Michael (Cindy) Sosinski, | 3 | | Rose (Dale) Magness, Mary (Mark) Fuller, Leonard (Jan) | 4 | | Sosinski, Dr. Elizabeth (Val Podkowirow) Sosinski, Daniel | 5 | | Sosinski, Jean Ann Doyle, Elaine (Michael) Byra, Carol (Mark) | 6 | | Bitto, and William Sosinski; 29 grandchildren; and 19 | 7 | | great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Leonard D. Sosinski, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 11 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 12 | | further
