SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Leonard D. Sosinski of Woodstock, who
4passed away on January 20, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Leonard Sosinski was born in Bronson, Michigan on
6October 10, 1915; he served his country in the United States
7Navy during World War II from 1942 to 1945; he married Marie
8Francis Bonacci on February 6, 1943; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Following his service in the war, he studied
10nursing and worked as a nurse anesthetist until retiring from
11McHenry Hospital at the age of 65 in 1980; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Leonard Sosinski was honored in 2013 for his
13service as a Pearl Harbor first responder; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Leonard Sosinski was an avid gardener and,
15following retirement, turned his hobby into his livelihood by
16planting an orchard and growing produce and pumpkins; he was an
17active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Hartland in
18Woodstock where he served as Eucharistic Minister; he was also
19a member of the Knights of Columbus #634 Starve Rock Council in
20Ottawa; and

1    WHEREAS, Leonard Sosinski and his wife, Marie, had 11
2children, Christine (Robert) Lane, Michael (Cindy) Sosinski,
3Rose (Dale) Magness, Mary (Mark) Fuller, Leonard (Jan)
4Sosinski, Dr. Elizabeth (Val Podkowirow) Sosinski, Daniel
5Sosinski, Jean Ann Doyle, Elaine (Michael) Byra, Carol (Mark)
6Bitto, and William Sosinski; 29 grandchildren; and 19
7great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Leonard D. Sosinski, and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Leonard Sosinski as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
