| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Carol Ann (Kosanke) Hedeman of Peoria, | 4 | | who passed away on April 6, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Carol Hedeman was born in Ripon, Wisconsin to | 6 | | Frank and Esther (Prellwitz) Kosanke on May 10, 1937; her | 7 | | father emigrated with his family from Pommern, Germany when he | 8 | | was five years old; she graduated from Elmhurst College, where | 9 | | she met her husband, Allan Hedeman; they would have celebrated | 10 | | their 60th anniversary in June 2019; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Carol Hedeman taught third grade in Arenzville for | 12 | | a short time; she was a substitute teacher and a reading tutor; | 13 | | in 1987, she earned her master's degree in counseling from | 14 | | Bradley University; she was then employed by Illinois Central | 15 | | College, where she was a counselor and an academic advisor and | 16 | | provided career guidance; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Carol Hedeman was active in the League of Women | 18 | | Voters for many years; she was a Girl Scout leader; she sang in | 19 | | the German American choir, danced in the German folk dance | 20 | | group, and dealt with German merchandise for Damenchor | 21 | | Germania; she and her husband were members of the formal dance | 22 | | Caper Club for 20 years; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Carol Hedeman was preceded in death by her | 2 | | parents; her brother, Robert; and her sister, Lillian; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Carol Hedeman is survived by her husband, Allan; | 4 | | her children, David Hedeman, John (Chantel) Hedeman, and Debra | 5 | | (Donn) Frizzi; her grandchildren, Richard, Jessica (Mills), | 6 | | Zachary, Robert, Jacob, Olivia, Ian, Tiare, and Matthew; and | 7 | | her great-grandchildren, Ainsley and Ryker Mills; therefore, | 8 | | be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Carol Ann (Kosanke) Hedeman and extend our sincere condolences | 12 | | to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be | 13 | | it further
| 14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 15 | | presented to the family of Carol Hedeman as an expression of | 16 | | our deepest sympathy.
