SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Carol Ann (Kosanke) Hedeman of Peoria,
4who passed away on April 6, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Carol Hedeman was born in Ripon, Wisconsin to
6Frank and Esther (Prellwitz) Kosanke on May 10, 1937; her
7father emigrated with his family from Pommern, Germany when he
8was five years old; she graduated from Elmhurst College, where
9she met her husband, Allan Hedeman; they would have celebrated
10their 60th anniversary in June 2019; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Carol Hedeman taught third grade in Arenzville for
12a short time; she was a substitute teacher and a reading tutor;
13in 1987, she earned her master's degree in counseling from
14Bradley University; she was then employed by Illinois Central
15College, where she was a counselor and an academic advisor and
16provided career guidance; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Carol Hedeman was active in the League of Women
18Voters for many years; she was a Girl Scout leader; she sang in
19the German American choir, danced in the German folk dance
20group, and dealt with German merchandise for Damenchor
21Germania; she and her husband were members of the formal dance
22Caper Club for 20 years; and

1    WHEREAS, Carol Hedeman was preceded in death by her
2parents; her brother, Robert; and her sister, Lillian; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Carol Hedeman is survived by her husband, Allan;
4her children, David Hedeman, John (Chantel) Hedeman, and Debra
5(Donn) Frizzi; her grandchildren, Richard, Jessica (Mills),
6Zachary, Robert, Jacob, Olivia, Ian, Tiare, and Matthew; and
7her great-grandchildren, Ainsley and Ryker Mills; therefore,
8be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Carol Ann (Kosanke) Hedeman and extend our sincere condolences
12to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be
13it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Carol Hedeman as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
