| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Harry M. LaHood of Washington, who passed | 4 | | away on November 2, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Harry LaHood was born in Peoria to Harry M. and | 6 | | Cecilia (Couri) LaHood Sr. on September 8, 1933; he graduated | 7 | | from Woodruff High School in 1951; he then served in the United | 8 | | States Navy during the Korean War; he married Gloria A. | 9 | | Hetherlin in Salem, Massachusetts on August 21, 1955; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Harry LaHood became an electrician and retired as | 11 | | a Journeyman after 30 years; he also owned and operated Quick | 12 | | 'n Clean laundromats; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Harry LaHood was a member of the IBEW Local #34, | 14 | | the ITOO Society, and the Peoria Sculling Club; he was an early | 15 | | member of the Peoria Cursillo movement; he was an accomplished | 16 | | singer and performed in several productions with Corn Stalk and | 17 | | the Peoria Players Theaters; he enjoyed being outdoors and | 18 | | spending time with his family and friends; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Harry LaHood was preceded in death by his sons, | 20 | | Thomas and Harry III; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Harry LaHood is survived by his wife, Gloria; his | 2 | | children, Rebecca (Richard) Parks, David (Kelly) LaHood, | 3 | | Joseph (Susan) LaHood, John (Zeina) LaHood BeShara, Stephen | 4 | | LaHood, Daniel (Cindy) LaHood, and Matthew (Lisa) LaHood; his | 5 | | 27 grandchildren; his 11 great-grandchildren; and his | 6 | | siblings, Kathryn (Carl) Williams, "Edward" Amin (Emily) | 7 | | LaHood, Richard (Patricia) LaHood, Mary Ann (Thomas) Penn, and | 8 | | Joy Annette (Mike) Tonsor; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Harry M. LaHood and extend our sincere condolences to his | 12 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 13 | | further
| 14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 15 | | presented to the family of Harry LaHood as an expression of our | 16 | | deepest sympathy.
