SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Harry M. LaHood of Washington, who passed
4away on November 2, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Harry LaHood was born in Peoria to Harry M. and
6Cecilia (Couri) LaHood Sr. on September 8, 1933; he graduated
7from Woodruff High School in 1951; he then served in the United
8States Navy during the Korean War; he married Gloria A.
9Hetherlin in Salem, Massachusetts on August 21, 1955; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Harry LaHood became an electrician and retired as
11a Journeyman after 30 years; he also owned and operated Quick
12'n Clean laundromats; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Harry LaHood was a member of the IBEW Local #34,
14the ITOO Society, and the Peoria Sculling Club; he was an early
15member of the Peoria Cursillo movement; he was an accomplished
16singer and performed in several productions with Corn Stalk and
17the Peoria Players Theaters; he enjoyed being outdoors and
18spending time with his family and friends; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Harry LaHood was preceded in death by his sons,
20Thomas and Harry III; and

1    WHEREAS, Harry LaHood is survived by his wife, Gloria; his
2children, Rebecca (Richard) Parks, David (Kelly) LaHood,
3Joseph (Susan) LaHood, John (Zeina) LaHood BeShara, Stephen
4LaHood, Daniel (Cindy) LaHood, and Matthew (Lisa) LaHood; his
527 grandchildren; his 11 great-grandchildren; and his
6siblings, Kathryn (Carl) Williams, "Edward" Amin (Emily)
7LaHood, Richard (Patricia) LaHood, Mary Ann (Thomas) Penn, and
8Joy Annette (Mike) Tonsor; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Harry M. LaHood and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Harry LaHood as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
