| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Floyd L. Nolan of Peoria, who passed away | 4 | | on May 17, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Floyd Nolan was born in Peoria to Fred Earl and | 6 | | Dorothy Louise (Thompson) Nolan on July 29, 1934; he married | 7 | | Charlotte
Jean Lonsdale on June 9, 1956; he later married | 8 | | Bernadine Hughes on August 28, 1994 in Peoria; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Floyd Nolan had worked many years as a | 10 | | self-employed plaster contractor; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Floyd Nolan was a member of the Twin Oaks | 12 | | Missionary Baptist Church in East Peoria; he was very involved | 13 | | with his community and served as his neighborhood advocate for | 14 | | over 20 years; he also served
as the President of the Day | 15 | | Spring Park Columbia Terrace North Neighborhood Association | 16 | | and was a member of the
West Bluff Council and the Peoria | 17 | | Neighborhood Alliance Association; and | 18 | | WHEREAS, Floyd Nolan enjoyed gardening and participated in | 19 | | community gardening so that he could help others in need; he | 20 | | also loved to
fish; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Floyd Nolan was preceded in death by his parents; | 2 | | three brothers; two sisters; and one great-grandson; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Floyd Nolan is survived by his second wife, | 4 | | Bernadine; his daughters, Cathleen (Harold) Ludolph, Sherrie | 5 | | Blasingim, and
Paula Lutrell; his sons, Gerry (Betsy) Nolan and | 6 | | Bradley (Mary)
Nolan; his stepdaughter, Drusilla (Robert) | 7 | | Stanard; 13 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren;
and several | 8 | | nieces and nephews, including Robbin Lynn Kost, who helped in | 9 | | his care; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Floyd L. Nolan, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 13 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 14 | | further
| 15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 16 | | presented to the family of Floyd Nolan as an expression of our | 17 | | deepest sympathy.
