SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Floyd L. Nolan of Peoria, who passed away
4on May 17, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Floyd Nolan was born in Peoria to Fred Earl and
6Dorothy Louise (Thompson) Nolan on July 29, 1934; he married
7Charlotte Jean Lonsdale on June 9, 1956; he later married
8Bernadine Hughes on August 28, 1994 in Peoria; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Floyd Nolan had worked many years as a
10self-employed plaster contractor; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Floyd Nolan was a member of the Twin Oaks
12Missionary Baptist Church in East Peoria; he was very involved
13with his community and served as his neighborhood advocate for
14over 20 years; he also served as the President of the Day
15Spring Park Columbia Terrace North Neighborhood Association
16and was a member of the West Bluff Council and the Peoria
17Neighborhood Alliance Association; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Floyd Nolan enjoyed gardening and participated in
19community gardening so that he could help others in need; he
20also loved to fish; and

1    WHEREAS, Floyd Nolan was preceded in death by his parents;
2three brothers; two sisters; and one great-grandson; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Floyd Nolan is survived by his second wife,
4Bernadine; his daughters, Cathleen (Harold) Ludolph, Sherrie
5Blasingim, and Paula Lutrell; his sons, Gerry (Betsy) Nolan and
6Bradley (Mary) Nolan; his stepdaughter, Drusilla (Robert)
7Stanard; 13 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and several
8nieces and nephews, including Robbin Lynn Kost, who helped in
9his care; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Floyd L. Nolan, and extend our sincere condolences to his
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Floyd Nolan as an expression of our
17deepest sympathy.
