| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Tom O'Reilly Sr., who passed away on June | 4 | | 9, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Tom O'Reilly was born in Chicago to Kevin and | 6 | | Kathleen (Moran) O'Reilly on May 3, 1937; he spent most of his | 7 | | youth in Waukegan and North Chicago and graduated from North | 8 | | Chicago High School in 1956; he married Carol Bellows on | 9 | | September 30, 1957, and they settled in Mundelein, raising | 10 | | three children; he married Valerie "Val" Coleman in 1982; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Tom O'Reilly worked for the Northbrook U.S. Post | 12 | | Office from 1960 until his retirement in 1992; in his later | 13 | | years, he worked part time as a floral delivery man; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Tom O'Reilly was an avid hunter and enthusiastic | 15 | | fisherman; he enjoyed taking hikes and took advantage of the | 16 | | trails in Lake County; he coached baseball and football in | 17 | | Mundelein; he enjoyed traveling and socializing with family, | 18 | | friends, and neighbors; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Tom O'Reilly was preceded in death by his wife, | 20 | | Val; his parents; and his siblings, Kevin Jr. (Gerry) and Ellen | 21 | | (Slagle) O'Reilly; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Tom O'Reilly is survived by his children, Tom Jr., | 2 | | Patty Popp, and John; his grandchildren, Justin Popp and Ryan | 3 | | and Mickey O'Reilly; his son-in-law, Steve Popp; his | 4 | | daughter-in-law, Mary O'Reilly (Tom Jr.); and relatives from | 5 | | both the O'Reilly and Moran sides of the family; therefore, be | 6 | | it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | Tom O'Reilly Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to his | 10 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 11 | | further
