| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Alan W. Johnson of East Moline, who | 4 | | passed away on November 14, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Alan Johnson was born on January 12, 1924 in | 6 | | Moline; his parents were Albin W. and Laura E. Ohline Johnson; | 7 | | he married Natalie J. Welander on September 9, 1961 in Moline; | 8 | | and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Alan Johnson graduated from Moline High School in | 10 | | 1942; he served for 3 years in the United States Army Air Force | 11 | | during World War II, mostly in the Southwest Pacific theatre; | 12 | | after his discharge, he attended the former Moline Institute of | 13 | | Commerce and subsequently graduated from Walton School of | 14 | | Commerce in Chicago in 1950; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Alan Johnson was employed by the United States | 16 | | Steel Supply Division in Moline and Chicago for 10 years; he | 17 | | later worked at the former Franks Foundry Corporation in Moline | 18 | | and Davenport in a variety of accounting and administrative | 19 | | positions until his retirement in 1982; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Alan Johnson was a member of Calvary Lutheran | 21 | | Church and was a member of the Church Council and served as |

| 1 | | Church Treasurer for 18 years; and | 2 | | WHEREAS, Alan Johnson was preceded in death by his parents; | 3 | | his wife, Natalie; and his sister, Betty L. (Forest) Johnson | 4 | | Reid; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Alan Johnson is survived by his brother-in-law, | 6 | | John L. (Joan) Welander; his niece, Jill (Robert) | 7 | | Welander-Mahlburg; his nephews, Mark (Budell) Welander and | 8 | | Thomas T. (Suzanne) Welander; and his many cousins, | 9 | | great-nieces, and great-nephews; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | 12 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Alan W. Johnson; and | 13 | | be it further
