SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

715 ILCS 5/12 new

Amends the Notice By Publication Act. Provides that if a notice is required to be published in a newspaper where the city, town, or county consists of more than 52% of a single minority group, the notice shall also be published in a local newspaper of that minority group and in the native language of that minority group.

AN ACT concerning civil law.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Notice By Publication Act is amended by adding Section 12 as follows:

(715 ILCS 5/12 new)

Sec. 12. Minority groups. If a notice is required to be published in a newspaper under this Act where the city, town, or county consists of more than 52% of a single minority group, the notice shall also be published in a local newspaper of that minority group, if available, and in the native language of that minority group.
