| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Sylvia L. Bashore of Pontiac, who passed | 4 | | away on December 14, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Sylvia Bashore was born in Flanagan to Jacob and | 6 | | Thelma {Koopman) Carls on October 22, 1927; she married
Raleigh | 7 | | Carlin in 1945; she married Leslie L. Bashore at the First | 8 | | Lutheran Church in
Pontiac on July 3, 1968; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Sylvia Bashore's first career was in bookkeeping; | 10 | | she then served as Livingston County Treasurer from 1976 to | 11 | | 2002; she was employed by Jackson
Hewitt Tax Service until | 12 | | 2016; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Sylvia Bashore was very active in the community | 14 | | throughout the years; she was a member of First Lutheran
| 15 | | Church, serving on many committees and assisting Les with many | 16 | | duties; she was a member of the
Pontiac Zonta Club and | 17 | | Livingston County Republican Woman, where she held numerous | 18 | | board positions; she was
also a precinct committeeman for over | 19 | | 30 years; and | 20 | | WHEREAS, Sylvia Bashore always had a smile and a helping | 21 | | hand for those who needed it, often putting their needs above |

own; she was a mentor and listening ear for many; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Sylvia Bashore was preceded in death by her | 3 | | husband, Les; her sons, Kenn and Bobby Carlin;
her | 4 | | stepdaughter, Leslie Ann Rosolino; and her parents; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Sylvia Bashore is survived by her daughter, Jeni | 6 | | Chaffer; her grandchildren, Allison (Andy) Anderson and Thera | 7 | | Greene; and her great-grandchildren, Carlin, Connor, Aidan, | 8 | | and
Cameron; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Sylvia L. Bashore and extend our sincere condolences to her | 12 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 13 | | further
| 14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 15 | | presented to the family of Sylvia Bashore as an expression of | 16 | | our deepest sympathy.
