SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Anthony J. "Tony" Vesci Sr. of Maryville, who passed away on July 8, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Tony Vesci Sr. was born in Granite City to Anthony and Florence (Clyde) Vesci on May 3, 1939; he married Linda Bess in Corinth, Mississippi on October 5, 1956; and

WHEREAS, Tony Vesci Sr. was an entrepreneur and had 51 years of service in the beer distribution industry; he owned and operated Vesci Inc. from 1956 until 2007; he also worked as a developer and contractor locally, as well as in the Lake of the Ozarks; and

WHEREAS, Tony Vesci Sr. believed in giving back to the community and worked with many organizations, including the Elks Lodge, the Moose lodge, and the Jaycees, and contributed to many charities and other organizations; he enjoyed his days of boating, swimming, motorcycle riding, playing the piano, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; he will be remembered for his generosity and willingness to help others; and

WHEREAS, Tony Vesci Sr. was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Michael A. Vesci; his granddaughter, Michelle Vesci; and his brother, George "Buddy" Vesci; and

WHEREAS, Tony Vesci Sr. is survived by his wife, Linda; his sons, Anthony J. (Mary L.) Vesci Jr. and Ralph M. (Robin E.) Vesci; his grandchildren, Michael and Anthony Vesci; his great-grandchildren, Morgan, Ryan, and Bennett; his sister, Janet Taylor; his many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; his nieces and nephews; and his other extended family and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Anthony J. "Tony" Vesci Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Tony Vesci Sr. as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
