SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of James J. Boarini of McHenry, who passed away on July 16, 2017; and

WHEREAS, James Boarini was born to Edward and Edelle (Odenbrett) Boarini on October 12, 1925; he served with the United States Navy in the South Pacific during World War II and married Margaret (Peg) Idstein in Chicago on November 26, 1949; and

WHEREAS, James Boarini was a former dairy farmer; and

WHEREAS, James Boarini was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Johnsburg, where he was on the cemetery board; he was a longtime volunteer at the FISH of McHenry Food Pantry; he was an avid landscape enthusiast and potato gun marksman; he loved creating memories with his grandchildren and doing basement craft projects with them; he ensured every grandchild and great-grandchild had a special teddy bear to love and go home with the day they were born; and

WHEREAS, James Boarini was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Edward, Francis, John, and Edelle; and

WHEREAS, James Boarini is survived by his wife of 67 years, Peg; his children, James (Joy) Boarini, Kathy (Martin) Nihill, Michael (Patricia Sorg) Boarini, Margaret (John) Hart, Annette Boarini, and Patricia (Ken) Scanlin; his grandchildren, Eric (Amber) Boarini, Jennifer (Chris) McLeod, Jamie (Bill) Walsh, Kristin (Will) Campbell, Sean Nihill (Megan Albrecht), Jonathan (Mariena) Boarini, Jessica Boarini (Luis-Pedro Barillas), Christa Boarini, Peter, Christy, Will, and Amy Hart, Michael and James Anderson, Kelly Scanlin, Joe (Erika) Scanlin, and Mary (Daniel) Montanye; his great-grandchildren, Maggie, Mary Kathryn, Billy, and Jack Walsh, Marty Campbell, Beau Nihill, Ellison McLeod, and Miles Boarini; and his sister, Mary (Boarini) Idstein; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of James J. Boarini, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of James Boarini as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
