HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the All Saints Academy of Breese eighth grade volleyball team, the Saints, on winning the 2018 Southern Illinois Junior High School Athletic Association (SIJHSAA) Class S State Championship; and

WHEREAS, The Saints defeated Altamont Lutheran in three sets by a score of 25-22, 20-25, and 15-3 in the Championship match at Herrin High School on March 24, 2018; and

WHEREAS, The Saints finished the season with a perfect record of 31-0; they are the only volleyball team in the history of All Saints Academy to go undefeated, and they tied the school record for most wins in a season; they are the third volleyball team from All Saints Academy to win a State Championship; they are also the first school in the history of the Southern Illinois Junior High School Athletic Association (SIJHSAA) to win a volleyball state championship on three different levels (Class L, Class M, and Class S); and

WHEREAS, In addition to winning the SIJHSAA Class S State Championship, the Saints also won the Germantown Tournament, the Clinton County Conference Tournament, the Belleville Diocesan Parochial Division Tournament, and the All Saints Academy Region 11 Class S Regional; and

WHEREAS, The Saints are coached by Head Coach Jennifer Jasper and Assistant Coach Jenna Ratermann; and

WHEREAS, The eighth grade members of the Saints are Emma Huelskamp, Sophie Hustedde, Emily Johnson, Riley Kleber, Jenna Martin, Tori Mohesky, Meg Poettker, and Annalyse Richter; the seventh grade member of the Saints is Alivia Lampe; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the All Saints Academy volleyball team, the Saints, on winning the 2018 SIJHSAA Class S State Championship, and we wish them many more successful years on the court; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be presented to the coaches and members of the Saints as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
