| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Ansel Ross Bartlett of Rushville, who | 4 | | passed away on July 27, 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ansel Bartlett was born in Schuyler County on | 6 | | December 22, 1922 to Ernest C. and Mary Ross Barlett; he | 7 | | attended Hale Ridge School and graduated from Rushville High | 8 | | School in 1940; he married Barbara Jeanne Barnes on May 14, | 9 | | 1949 in Hillsboro; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Ansel Bartlett was a life-long farmer in Schuyler | 11 | | County; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Ansel Bartlett was a member of the First United | 13 | | Methodist Church, Rushville Lodge #9 Ancient Free and Accepted | 14 | | Masons, the Lusk Chapter Royal Arch Masons, Rushville | 15 | | Commandery #56 Knights Templers, and the 22 Club of Schuyler | 16 | | County; he coached Little League for over 20 years and sang in | 17 | | the church choir, the Schuyler Singers, at many special events; | 18 | | he was a former member of the Board of Directors of the | 19 | | Schuyler State Bank and served as a Democratic Precinct | 20 | | Committeeman for many years; in 1980, he was elected Rushville | 21 | | Township Supervisor; he enjoyed ice skating, hunting, fishing, | 22 | | sports, and music; he was very proud of his family cabin which |

| 1 | | was the former Hale Ridge School House, and he enjoyed spending | 2 | | time there with his family; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Ansel Bartlett was preceded in death by his | 4 | | parents, and his daughter-in-law, Suzanne Bartlett; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ansel Bartlett is survived by his wife, Barbara; | 6 | | sons, Ronald (Marsha) Bartlett, Randall Bartlett, Roderick | 7 | | Bartlett, and Robert (Crystal) Bartlett; grandchildren, Amanda | 8 | | Stoll, Ross Bartlett, Matthew Bartlett, Grace Bartlett, Austi | 9 | | Emerick, Bronson Bartlett, and Jagger Bartlett; | 10 | | great-grandchildren, Madeline Stoll and Makenzie Stoll; and | 11 | | sisters, Anne Ross Bauer and Beatrice Hall; therefore, be it
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 14 | | Ansel Ross Bartlett, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 15 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 16 | | further
