AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 114

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 114 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "(5 ILCS 390/Act rep.)
5    Section 5. The Supported Employees Act is repealed.
 
6    Section 10. The School Code is amended by changing Section
714-8.04 as follows:
 
8    (105 ILCS 5/14-8.04)  (from Ch. 122, par. 14-8.04)
9    Sec. 14-8.04. Supported employment. The school board that
10is the governing body of any secondary school in this State
11that provides special education services and facilities for
12children with disabilities shall include, as part of preparing
13the transition planning for disabled children who are 16 years
14of age or more, consideration of a supported employment
15component with experiences in integrated community settings

1for those eligible children with disabilities who have been
2determined at an IEP meeting to be in need of participation in
3the supported employment services offered pursuant to this
4Section.
5    Supported employment services made available as part of
6transition planning under this Section shall be designed and
7developed for school boards by the State Board of Education, in
8consultation with programs such as Project CHOICES (Children
9Have Opportunities In Integrated Community Environments),
10parents and advocates of children with disabilities, and the
11Departments of Central Management Services and Human Services,
12and shall be maintained and operated in such manner as to
13coordinate with supported employee programs administered under
14the Supported Employees Act.

16    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
17becoming law.".
