| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois | 3 |
| learned with shock and sadness of the untimely death of Gary E. | 4 |
| Egbers of Bloomington on Monday, July 19, 2004; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Egbers was born on January 29, 1950 in Quincy | 6 |
| to Harold and Mildred Manlove Egbers; he married Jan Van Dyke | 7 |
| on December 22, 1967 in Bloomington; and
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Egbers was a graduate of Normal Community High | 9 |
| School and a 1972 graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University; and
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, He founded Commercial Packaging Company in Normal | 11 |
| in 1983 out of his home and in 1991 added facilities in | 12 |
| Middleton, Wisconsin; the company was named the Illinois Small | 13 |
| Family Business of the Year in 2001; and
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Egbers was named to the Illinois Wesleyan | 15 |
| University Board of Trustees in 1994 and served as chairman of | 16 |
| the Development Committee for the Board of Trustees; he was | 17 |
| actively involved in many local charities and was instrumental | 18 |
| in the early development of the Beyond the Books Program in | 19 |
| Bloomington-Normal; and
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church and | 21 |
| Bloomington Country Club; he was a pilot and enjoyed golf; he | 22 |
| was devoted to his family and friends and inspired those around | 23 |
| him with his creative enthusiasm; and
| 24 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Gary E. Egbers has been deeply felt | 25 |
| by many, especially his wife, Jan; his parents, Harold and | 26 |
| Mildred; his daughter, Lori (James) Morris; his sons, Aaron | 27 |
| (Lora) Egbers, Harrison Egbers, and Thomas Egbers; his sister, | 28 |
| Cheri Stellaccio; his brother, Gregg (Laura) Egbers; and his | 29 |
| grandchildren, Austin, Alexandra, Nicholas, Julia, James, and |

| Ella Rose; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL | 3 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 4 |
| Gary E. Egbers, and we extend our deepest sympathy to his | 5 |
| family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 6 |
| further
| 7 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 8 |
| presented to the family of Gary Egbers as an expression of our | 9 |
| sincerest condolences during their time of bereavement.
