 1                     AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 90

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend Senate Bill 90 on page  2,  by
 3    inserting after line 13 the following:

 4        "Section 10.  The Day and Temporary Labor Services Act is
 5    amended by changing Section 10 as follows:

 6        (820 ILCS 175/10)
 7        Sec. 10. Statement.
 8        (a)  Whenever  a  day  and temporary labor service agency
 9    agrees to send  one  or  more  persons  to  work  as  day  or
10    temporary  laborers,  the  day  and  temporary  labor service
11    agency shall, upon request by a  day  or  temporary  laborer,
12    provide   to   the  day  or  temporary  laborer  a  statement
13    containing the following items: "Name and nature of the  work
14    to be performed", "wages offered", "destination of the person
15    employed",  "terms of transportation", and whether a meal and
16    equipment is provided, either  by the day and temporary labor
17    service or the third party employer, and the cost of the meal
18    and equipment, if any.
19        (b)  No day and temporary labor service agency  may  send
20    any  day  or temporary laborer to any place where a strike, a
21    lockout,  or  other  labor  trouble  exists   without   first
22    notifying the day or temporary laborer of the conditions.

 1        (c)  The  Department shall recommend to day and temporary
 2    labor service agencies  that those agencies employ  personnel
 3    who  can  effectively  communicate  information  required  in
 4    subsections  (a)  and  (b)  to  day  or temporary laborers in
 5    Spanish, Polish, or any other language that is generally used
 6    in the locale of the day and temporary labor agency.
