 1                    AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3002

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend House Bill 3002  by  replacing
 3    everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 4        "Section  5.   The  Nursing  Home  Care Act is amended by
 5    adding Section 2-105.1 as follows:

 6        (210 ILCS 45/2-105.1 new)
 7        Sec. 2-105.1.  Privacy of records.  If a facility closes,
 8    the owner of the facility shall  make  arrangements  for  the
 9    preservation  of  residents' medical records and shall inform
10    the  Department  of  Public  Health  where  the  records  are
11    maintained and how the records may be accessed.

12        Section 99. Effective date.  This Act takes  effect  upon
13    becoming law.".
