 1        AN   ACT   concerning   executive   branch   boards   and
 2    commissions.

 3        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 4    represented in the General Assembly:

 5        Section  1.   Short  title.  This Act may be cited as the
 6    Executive Branch Boards and Commissions Sunset Act.

 7        Section  5.  Elimination  of  boards   and   commissions.
 8    Unless  the  General Assembly specifically provides otherwise
 9    by law taking effect after the effective date  of  this  Act,
10    all  executive  branch  boards and commissions are eliminated
11    and cease to exist on January 1, 2008.

12        Section 10.  Compensation.  After the effective  date  of
13    this  Act,  unless the General Assembly specifically provides
14    otherwise by law taking effect after the  effective  date  of
15    this  Act,  the  members  of  all executive branch boards and
16    commissions shall  serve  without  compensation  but  may  be
17    reimbursed   only  for  their  reasonable  expenses  directly
18    related to the official business of the board or commission.

19        Section  15.  Conflicts.   In  the  case  of  a  conflict
20    between the provisions of this Act and any other Act as  that
21    other  Act exists on the effective date of this Act, this Act
22    controls.
