SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Dorothy B. Dixon of Moline, who passed away on December 3, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Dixon was born in Chetek, Wisconsin to Chester and Vivian (McGraw) Stotts on February 21, 1920; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Dixon served in the Women's Corps of the United States Army during World War II and was stationed in the Asiatic Pacific Theater; after the war, she worked as a secretary at the Rock Island Arsenal; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Dixon was a member of the V.F.W.; she enjoyed playing Bingo and going to Jumer's; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Dixon was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth; her sisters, Myrna Stotts and Margie Reed; her brothers, Charles Stotts and Gene Stotts; and her niece Myrna Adamson; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Dixon is survived by her nieces and nephews, Evelyn, Carol, Pat, Ronny, Carl, Shirley, Dottie, and Peggy; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of Dorothy B. Dixon and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dorothy Dixon as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
