SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Edward John Koch of Milan, who passed away on September 9, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Edward Koch was born on May 17, 1925; his parents were Edward and Anna Koch; and

WHEREAS, Edward Koch attended St. Mary's Grade School and St. Joseph High School; after returning from the military, he enrolled at St. Ambrose College and received a bachelor's degree in business; and

WHEREAS, Edward Koch served his country as a member of the United States Army Air Corps, where he served as a tail gunner on a B-17 while stationed in England during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Edward Koch was employed at Business Systems, the Coca-Cola Company, and the United States Army Reserve, where he was stationed at the Rock Island Arsenal; and

WHEREAS, Edward Koch enjoyed photography, collecting cameras, fishing, cribbage, traveling, reading, and collecting antiques; and

WHEREAS, Edward Koch was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Eleanor May Lofquist; his nephew, Bob; and his niece, Linda; and

WHEREAS, Edward Koch is survived by his nephews, Kim (Betty) Lofquist, Larry Lofquist, and William Lofquist; his niece, Julie (Joseph) Aring; and his cousins, David (Sheila) Sallen and James (Ann) Sallen; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Edward John Koch; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Edward Koch as an expression of our sympathy.
