SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Edward John Koch of Milan, who passed
4away on September 9, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Edward Koch was born on May 17, 1925; his parents
6were Edward and Anna Koch; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Edward Koch attended St. Mary's Grade School and
8St. Joseph High School; after returning from the military, he
9enrolled at St. Ambrose College and received a bachelor's
10degree in business; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Edward Koch served his country as a member of the
12United States Army Air Corps, where he served as a tail gunner
13on a B-17 while stationed in England during World War II; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Edward Koch was employed at Business Systems, the
15Coca-Cola Company, and the United States Army Reserve, where he
16was stationed at the Rock Island Arsenal; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Edward Koch enjoyed photography, collecting
18cameras, fishing, cribbage, traveling, reading, and collecting
19antiques; and

1    WHEREAS, Edward Koch was preceded in death by his parents;
2his sister, Eleanor May Lofquist; his nephew, Bob; and his
3niece, Linda; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Edward Koch is survived by his nephews, Kim
5(Betty) Lofquist, Larry Lofquist, and William Lofquist; his
6niece, Julie (Joseph) Aring; and his cousins, David (Sheila)
7Sallen and James (Ann) Sallen; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
10family and friends, mourn the passing of Edward John Koch; and
11be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Edward Koch as an expression of our
14sympathy.
