HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Rev. Ralph Thomas Wrightner Stuckey of Dunlap, who passed away on January 27, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Rev. Stuckey was born in Texarkana, Texas to Edna Ruth Wrightner and Henry Stuckey, Sr. on September 12, 1950; he served in the United States Army; he received a bachelor's degree in general education from Bradley University in Peoria, a bachelor's degree in general studies from Texas A&M University, and a marketing management degree from Illinois Central College in East Peoria; he married Gloria Williams in Peoria on June 17, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Rev. Stuckey retired from Caterpillar, Inc. in 2013 after many years of service; and

WHEREAS, Rev. Stuckey served as Associate Pastor at Star Of Hope Full Gospel Baptist Church in Peoria; he also served as Chaplain for the Illinois Department of Corrections; he was a faithful member of PrayerView Community Church in Peoria; and

WHEREAS, Rev. Stuckey was preceded in death by his father, Henry Stuckey, Sr.; his mother, Edna R. Foote; and his brother, Charles Stuckey; and

WHEREAS, Rev. Stuckey is survived by his wife, Gloria; his stepmother, Gloria Stuckey; his son, Christopher Wells Wrightner; his 6 daughters, Terra Wrightner, Dynal "Jay" Wrightner, Denisha Foy, Nicole Williams, Annette Williams, and Nia Crane; his 6 brothers, Andre (Dr. Leslie) McKnight, Ronnie Nelson, Henry (Lorna) Stuckey, Jr., Gregory Stuckey, and Floyd (Marilyn) Taylor; his 4 sisters, Andre (Lyntee) Curley, Roberta Foote, Tanya Foote, and LaToya Stuckey; his 9 grandchildren, Jordan, Cassidy, Christopher, Destini, TaTianna, Dion, Jr., Jaylin, Quinten, and Alanea; his 2 great-grandchildren, Ka'Money and Kay'Onna; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Rev. Ralph Thomas Wrightner Stuckey, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Rev. Stuckey as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
