SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Norma H. Kendrick of Vernon Hills, who passed away on July 24, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Norma Kendrick was born on February 14, 1919, in Chattanooga, Tennessee; she married Dick Kendrick; she lived in Waukegan for more than 50 years; and

WHEREAS, Norma Kendrick taught kindergarten in the Waukegan public schools, and after retirement taught part-time at AAUW Nursery School; during her career she also taught in Belvidere and Park Ridge; and

WHEREAS, Norma Kendrick was a lover of music; she co-founded the Sweet Adelines chapter in Waukegan in the 1950s; she was a Sunday school teacher at First Christian Church of Waukegan for more than 2 decades and participated in the church's clown ministry; she was a member of the Waukegan Newcomers Club; and

WHEREAS, Norma Kendrick is survived by her husband, Richard A. "Dick" Kendrick and her sons, Rick and Jeff Kendrick; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Norma Kendrick, and we extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Norma Kendrick as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
