SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply
3saddened to learn of the death of Norma H. Kendrick of Vernon
4Hills, who passed away on July 24, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Norma Kendrick was born on February 14, 1919, in
6Chattanooga, Tennessee; she married Dick Kendrick; she lived in
7Waukegan for more than 50 years; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Norma Kendrick taught kindergarten in the
9Waukegan public schools, and after retirement taught part-time
10at AAUW Nursery School; during her career she also taught in
11Belvidere and Park Ridge; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Norma Kendrick was a lover of music; she
13co-founded the Sweet Adelines chapter in Waukegan in the 1950s;
14she was a Sunday school teacher at First Christian Church of
15Waukegan for more than 2 decades and participated in the
16church's clown ministry; she was a member of the Waukegan
17Newcomers Club; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Norma Kendrick is survived by her husband, Richard
19A. "Dick" Kendrick and her sons, Rick and Jeff Kendrick;
20therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3Norma Kendrick, and we extend our sincere condolences to her
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Norma Kendrick as an expression of
8our deepest sympathy.
