SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Scott Schoeller, who passed away on July 24, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Scott Schoeller grew up in Skokie, where he attended Cleveland Elementary School, Oakview Middle School, and Niles East High School; and

WHEREAS, Scott Schoeller was a 40-year member of the Skokie Chamber of Commerce, most recently serving as board chair; he started Contour Landscaping in his neighbor's garage in 1976, growing his company into a thriving business in Skokie's downtown; he also served as president of the Illinois Professional Lawn Care Association and as a certified arborist of the International Society of Arboriculture; and

WHEREAS, In addition to his service to businesses in the landscaping industry, Scott Schoeller devoted his time as an instructor for the Motorcycle Safety Foundation and as an introduction leader for Landmark Education, a personal and professional development company; and

WHEREAS, Scott Schoeller is survived by his wife, Mary; his son, Ben; and his daughter, Heidi; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Scott Schoeller and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Scott Schoeller as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
